is a set of open access resources designed for medical students interested in anesthesiology. These are not meant to replace previous anesthesia resources including textbooks, but compliment them.
This series is designed for 3rd and 4th year clerks who are doing electives in anesthesiology, however trainees in earlier stages and off-service residents may find this useful as well. These are designed to help understand core physiologic princples and serves as foundational blocks for learning further topics in anesthesiology.
is designed to be a quick reference for helping you deliver an anesthetic from start to finish on your own. As you become more familiar with it the resource, you will start to use the first 2 pages more day-to-day.
A reasonable goal is to work through the video series over 2-4 weeks of electives. You will also likely not retain as much on first viewing, so the authors suggest you re-watch these videos again as you will likely gain a stronger understanding. Although learners would often like to find a single 'high-yield' resource, literature in education has well-established the benefits of multiple resources to contextualize information. The authors suggest you follow readings from complimentary texts (Ottawa Anesthesthesia Primer, University of Toronto Anesthesia Handbook)
